St.John’s Episcopal Church at Ballachulish in Argyll, Scotland is situated almost halfway between Ballachulish Bridge and the village itself. Like so many churches, it is supported by a declining and ageing congregation who, alone, cannot possibly address the funding needs required to tackle the fabric repairs that would ensure the future of this important building.

However, the Church still plays an important and vital role to many in Ballachulish and beyond, due to the burial ground that surrounds the church along with the church records.

It has many visitors from all over the world who wish to trace their ancestors and general family links to the area. The aim of this website is to heighten awareness of the plight of St.John’s and offer a means whereby monetary donations could be lodged directly into church funds.

Estimates of the costs of fabric repairs, installation of a heating system, etc. are in the region of £1,000,000. We would also like to encourage use of the Guestbook so that individuals could contribute stories, experiences, memories and information linked to St.John’s. Should enough entries be forthcoming, we would hope that, in the future, they might form the basis of a book that in itself could help continue to raise funds to carry on the work of maintaining the fabric of the Church.
